Fight Off the Sunday Scaries with a Poignant Dark Comedy Like No Other
Founded in 1990, Kitchen Dog Theater is committed to enhancing and broadening the artistic canvas of the community. Kitchen Dog Theater dedicated itself to creating theater which asks difficult questions and challenges the beliefs and assumptions of the artist and the audience.
Kitchen Dog Theater will present the regional premiere of You Got Older by Clare Barron. In this bawdy, irreverent and touching new play, up-and-coming playwright Barron masterfully blends reality and fantasy in a dark comedy about falling apart as you're failing to launch, and what you might find instead.
During You Got Older, Mae's life is beginning to fall apart. Her boyfriend dumped her, she got fired from her job, and she's moved back home to take care of her dad. As if that weren't enough, she has this cowboy that just won't leave her alone. What happens when your life path leads you right over a cliff?
Clare Barron is a playwright and actor from Wenatchee, Washington. Her other plays I’ll Never Love Again, Baby Screams Miracle, and Dance Nation. She is also the recipient of a Whiting Award, the Page 73 Playwriting Fellowship and the Paula Vogel Award at the Vineyard.
Tickets are $20 for general admission and $15 for students and seniors. You may purchase your tickets online at http://www.kitchendogtheater.org/older, in-person at the box office 30 minutes before the show, or by calling 214-953-1055.
